Picking Up Steam

Ok. I'm still experimenting with track layouts. I gotta tell ya, I'm having fun with that. If you're thinking I'm acting like a kid, yeah, I admit it!

My parents came to visit for a while. Dad gave me his old train sets. And some track. And several buildings. And scenery stuffs. I'm humbled.

So now, I've got the makings of an eclectic setup. I'm pretty happy with it.

I also bought a collection of HO scale trucks.

Early experimenting...

I set up an oval with 18" radius track. Obviously nothing fancy, just trying stuff out.Fiddling around, trying different things out.

Learning, too.

For instance, hooking up ten cars to one locomotive, well, it just spun it's wheels! Cool, but counterproductive. So, I put a second locomotive on, and it worked perfectly.

That is, until I became aware that I hadn't properly secured some of the cars!

Got it fixed pretty quickly. So then I tried again.

Then I added some more track, this time with 22" radius track, set up around the outside. Hooked up a second power supply and got them both going.

You know what? There are those who would say model railroading is the world's greatest hobby. I gotta tell ya, with the fun I'm having so far, I agree!

Thanks for stopping by.

God bless.

Howdy!

Howdy!

I'm just an ordinary guy who likes model trains. I had some sets but lost it all in a divorce.

So, now I'm starting to get back in to model railroading. At the moment, I've got some tracks, two saw horses, a 4x8 sheet of plywood, a few locomotives, some rail cars, power supply, and even some time!

I'm planning on building scenery. I'll post pictures later, to show the progress.

Thanks for stopping by!

God bless!
